DMIT stands for Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence test. “Derma” means skin and “Glyphic” means pattern or curve. Dermatoglyphics is a scientific technique to study the fingerprint pattern and its correlation with the brain’s potential to identify the inherent quality, personality and best learning style of an individual. Scientific research has proved that fingerprints and brain lobes are developed simultaneously at the fetal stage between gestation period of 13th to 24th week. Fingerprints , once developed, remain unchanged throughout our lifetime. Interestingly, no two fingerprints are the same and it is unique to each individual.
This uniqueness determines one’s unique and infinite potential of the brain. Brain is divided into two hemispheres with each hemisphere having five lobes. Each of the fingers is connected with a respective lobe. The fingerprint pattern and its ridge count have a strong correlation between the brain’s potential of that particular lobe which enables it to identify the inborn talent of a person. The whole concept of DMIT is a vast subject based on understanding from Neuroscience, Genetics, Dermatoglyphics, Psychology and Embryology put together.
